Audio Interview with Steve Wright |
| Steve
Wright, Vietnam veteran and author, talks with Don Swaim about Wright's
early life, his experiences in Vietnam, and the state of the United States,
post-Vietnam. Wright grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Ohio State
University
until
he was drafted. Wright became an intelligence officer, which provided
a view of the whole spectrum of the conflict. As opposition to the
war
grew,
the U.S. military effort suffered. Wright claims that the Vietnam War
taught that you cannot insert American power into the rest of the world
without
being
aware
of
the reality of each individual situation. Wright feels that the conflict
has yet to be fully dealt with and the literature produced about the
conflict
helps with the difficulty of absorbing what happened.
