Samuel Charters, a novelist, poet, record producer and historian of jazz and blues, talks with Don in this 1984 interview about writing Jelly Roll Morton’s Last Night at the Jungle Inn, and discusses Jelly’s life and music. He also discusses his feelings towards the race relations in the 60s and 70s, and why he decided to move to Sweden in the 70s. Charters many books also include The Roots of the Blues: An African Search, The Country Blues and The Blues Makers.
