In this 1986 interview with Don Swaim, Roger Simon sheds light on how he kick started his writing career, the disadvantages to writing screenplays for movies, and the difficulties of writing a novel after writing screenplays. Simon also talks about The Straight Man, a mystery novel which was nominated for Best Novel Edgar by Mystery Writers of America.
