Robert MacNeil, author of Looking for My Country, Burden of Desire, Breaking News and the co-anchor of the MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour, speaks with Don Swaim in this 1989 interview about some of MacNeil's own radio experiences. He talks about the struggle of adding autobiographical elements to a story, books he read as a child, and what authors inspired him to choose to write.
