Audio Interviews with Peter Straub

Peter Straub, a leader in the horror genre and author of Floating Dragon, Shadowlands, Ghost Story and many more, talks with Don Swaim in this 1983 interview. Straub is asked how he goes about planning a novel, to which he responds that writing a novel is like a "circus act." Straub also discusses turning his books into movies, his place in the horror genre and his collaboration with Steven King for a novel called Talisman.

Peter Straub talks about one of his first novels, Marriages and how it came to be. He discusses which one of his books he considers his “breakthrough” novel and how he and Stephen King collaborated to write the thriller, The Talisman. Straub is the author of 14 novels including The Hellfire Club and Mr. X and is the recipient of the British Fantasy Award, two Bram Stoker awards and two World Fantasy awards.

In this 1990 interview Peter Straub discusses his novel titled, Mystery and Don compares the book with that of the Hardy Boys mysteries. Straub also discusses some of the stories in his collection of novels, titled Houses Without Doors.
