In this interview with Don Swaim, Michael Schnayerson talks about Irwin Shaw and writing a biography about him. Shaw had become an overnight success at the age of 23, he wrote for radio after graduating in Brooklyn and wrote many other stories. He joined the army, later writing stories about his army experiences, and eventually started writing many screenplays.
