Don Swaim Interviews

Audio Interview with Lou Dorfsman

Award winning graphic designer, Lou Dorfsman, discusses with Swaim his life as a designer for CBS and his recent book Dorfsman and CBS. The book is a pictorial historical account of the evolution of Dorfsman’s 40-year career and of CBS. He designed many typefaces for CBS, and he now runs his own advertising agency. The idea for the book came from a publisher who noted no other person had ever been in his particular position for a major network for so long. The book is a companion of the history of CBS, according to Swaim.

For over a decade, many of the best writers of the English language found their way onto Don Swaim's daily two-minute CBS Radio show, Book Beat. His New York-based program was derived from longer interviews, sometimes 40-minutes in length. Found exclusively here, Wired for Books proudly webcasts these conversations in their entirety using RealAudio.
