Don Swaim Interviews

Audio Interview with John Gregory Dunne

John Gregory Dunne

John Gregory Dunne, author of True Confessions, The Red White and Blue, and The Studio, grew up in a family of six and married Joan Didion. Dunne talks about his novel, The Red White and Blue, with Don Swaim in 1987. Although Swaim feels like there was not a single part of the late 60s and early 70s that Dunne did not discuss in the book, Dunne says that the book focused more on his own personal experiences as a reporter. Dunne surprises some people with his writing style with his lack of using a time chart to keep the story consistent.
