Greg Mitchell, author of The Campaign of the Century : Upton Sinclair's Race for Governor of California and the Birth of Media Politics, Joy in Mudville : A Little League Memoir, and other books, speaks with Don Swaim in this 1992 interview about Upton Sinclair. The setting for the book is during the Great Depression. Everybody was miserable and everyone was looking for a solution. Greg Mitchell explains that the controversy about Upton Sinclair's running for governor of California spawned several new political tactics in an attempt to keep Sinclair out of office. Listen
