| Gail Godwin talks with Don Swaim in this 1984 interview about her literary family, her beginnings in journalism and how she moved into writing fiction. She had difficulties gaining a foothold in writing, and credits Kurt Vonnegut Jr. for giving her the inspiration after attending his workshop. They discuss some of her novels including some that did not make it very far. Some of her books include: The Perfectionists, The Finishing School, and The Odd Women.
