Elia Kazan, best known as the Oscar-winning film director for the films On the Waterfront, Gentleman's Agreement and America, America, also directed the Broadway plays, A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He talks with Don Swaim in 1985 about Kazan's novel, The Arrangement, writing an autobiography, and his life as an actor, director, producer, and writer. He also discusses his membership in the American Communist Party in the 1930s as well as his testimony before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Listen
